Showers FAQ

What is the difference between a walk-in shower and a shower enclosure?

A walk-in shower usually has a more open design with a glass screen and easy access. A shower enclosure is more enclosed, often with a door, and can be a good option where you want to contain water within a defined shower area.

---

Are walk-in showers a good idea?

Yes, walk-in showers are popular because they create a clean, modern and spacious look. They work especially well in larger bathrooms, ensuites and wet room-style designs, but the layout needs to allow enough room to reduce splashing.

---

What shower door is best for a small ensuite?

Sliding shower doors are often a good choice for small ensuites because they do not need extra space to open out into the room. Quadrant shower enclosures can also work well in corners where space is limited.

---

What is a quadrant shower enclosure?

A quadrant shower enclosure is a curved shower enclosure designed to fit neatly into a corner. It is a practical option for small bathrooms and ensuites because it saves space while still giving you a comfortable shower area.

---

Do I need a shower tray for a walk-in shower?

Many walk-in showers use a low-profile shower tray, but some are designed as wet room-style showers with tiled floors and drainage. The best option depends on your bathroom layout, floor build-up, drainage and installation requirements.

---

What size shower tray should I choose?

The right shower tray size depends on the space available and how much room you want inside the shower. Larger trays can feel more comfortable, while compact trays are useful for ensuites, cloakrooms and smaller bathrooms.

---

Can I replace just the shower door?

In some cases, yes, but it depends on the existing shower enclosure, measurements, fixings and condition of the tray or walls. It is worth checking compatibility before choosing a replacement shower door.
