Bathrooms

Where do I start when planning a new bathroom?

Start with the layout. Think about where the toilet, shower, bath and basin will go, then look at storage, lighting, tiles, taps and accessories. Visiting a bathroom showroom can help you see how different products work together before you choose.

What should I bring to a bathroom showroom?

Bring room measurements, photos of the existing bathroom, notes on pipe positions if you have them, and any ideas or inspiration you like. If you are working with a builder or plumber, it can also help to bring drawings or plans.

Can I choose bathroom tiles and bathroom ware in one place?

Yes, at New Line you can choose bathroom tiles, bathroom furniture, shower enclosures, baths, taps, mirrors, toilets and accessories together. This makes it easier to coordinate colours, finishes and the overall look of the room.

What is the best bathroom style for a small bathroom?

For a small bathroom, choose products that keep the room feeling open and practical. Wall-hung vanity units, large mirrors, light tiles, good storage and simple shower screens can all help make the space feel bigger and easier to use.

What should I consider for a family bathroom?

A family bathroom needs to be practical, easy to clean and comfortable for everyday use. Good storage, durable tiles, a suitable shower or bath, easy-clean surfaces and safe flooring are all important. For example you might want to consider a bath to wall bath instead of freestanding to minimise toddler splashes.

Do I need a bath in my bathroom?

Not always. Some homes work better with a large shower, especially if space is limited. However, a bath can be useful for young children, family homes or anyone who likes to relax in the bathroom. The best choice depends on your space and lifestyle.

What bathroom finishes are popular?

Popular bathroom finishes include soft neutral tiles, wood-effect furniture, brushed brass and matt black finishes, stone-effect tiles and large mirrors. The best finish depends on whether you want a calm spa-style bathroom, a modern look or a more classic design.

Can New Line help with bathroom ideas for a new build?

Yes, New Line can help with bathroom ideas for new builds, renovations, ensuites, downstairs toilets and family bathrooms. Visiting the showroom is a useful way to compare products, finishes and layouts before making final decisions.

How to maximise space in a small bathroom?

Wall-hung vanity units provide storage while keeping the floor visible, helping the room feel more spacious and make the bathroom feel less cluttered. Choosing lighter colours, simple handles and clean-lined bathroom furniture can help maximise storage while keeping the space bright, neat and uncluttered. Large format tiles are a great option because they create fewer grout lines, helping the walls and floors feel more seamless. Matching your grout colour closely to your tiles can also reduce visible lines and give the illusion of a larger space.

Bright neutral colours, such as soft whites, warm beiges, light greys and stone tones, can help reflect light and make the bathroom feel more spacious. For the shower area, glass panels or a walk-in shower can work better than a traditional shower door, creating a more open, airy feel while keeping the layout sleek and practical.

How to create a spa like bathroom at home?

Create a spa-like bathroom by choosing calm neutral tiles, soft lighting, natural textures and simple finishes. Stone effect tiles, wood effect furniture, large mirrors, brushed brass details and good storage can all help make the bathroom feel more relaxing, clutter-free and luxurious.
